
Mr. Mention
From the mountains of Mandeville, Manchester, Jamaica comes a thunderous voice with the heart of a Lion and the gentleness of a Lamb. His friends back home call him “Manchester Man”. His thousands of adoring fans worldwide call him Mr. Mention.
As a young man growing up in the country, Andrew Reid (AKA: Mr. Mention) recalls enjoying listening to the Blues. Surrounded by a large musically inclined family, Mr. Mention’s influenced by musicians such as Jacob Miller, Bob Marley, Burning Spear, Peter Tosh, Bonnie Wailer, Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Buddy Guy, Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Barry White, and many others.
An international recording artist in his own right, Mr. Mention has performed along side such artists as Makka B, Pato Banton, Capleton, Jr. Reid, Daddy Freddy, Bongo Chili, Roy Brown, Busta Rhymes, Midnight, The Mike Ward Band, Herbalists, and many others.
Reid’s special blend of Reggae and Mountain Blues music has entertained crowds from the Dutch West Indies to the Czech Republic. From Slovakia, Germany, and Poland to the good old USA. Other performance locations have included New York, Miami, Tampa, San Francisco, Sacramento,Tunisia, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands just to mention a few. His music resonating with the message of peace and love.
Reid loves to perform in outdoor festivals, and has entertained crowds in Europe at festivals such as; Febio Fest, Reggae Meeting, Urban Rapublic, and Snow Slash. With his warm smile lighting up the scene and his powerful words of wisdom soothing many a soul, Mr. Mention is a creative force to be reckoned with. He will entertain and enlighten any audience.
When performing his Blues act” Mr. Reid” is his stage name. He fell in love with the blues at a young age. This love for the blues was rekindled when he met is Blues partner, mentor and friend, Randy Crowe. Together they released a blues CD entitled, “Prague Sessions” (2008). Unfortunately, Mr. Crowe passed away suddenly in a small Costa Rican town. Reid is now performing solo around the USA with his acoustic guitar.
