Mr. Mention In-studio on Skankadon Radio

Independent online radio station operators world wide are using their talents and skills to produce great content.  The Internet has opened a world of possibilities and opportunities for clever entrepreneurs to compete with the established broadcast and entertainment industries.

“Skankadon”, as his friends call him, loves to DJ.  And he has a growing audience of loyal “listeners/viewers”.  A few days ago Mr. Mention and crew paid a visit to Skankadon Radio where the callers raved about the music they were hearing.

The interview was punctuated by spontaneous outbursts of acapella versions of appropriate songs for the topic at hand.  It really was magical.

As Mr. Mention says, “Every ting is a ting, cause every ting start from a little ting.”

We spoke with Mr. Mention about his compilation.

MightVibe: Why did you release this compilation with these particular songs?

Mr. Mention: At this time in my life I was actually moving thought the Caribbean and thought out Asia learning about the people.

Songs like You Will Not Fight Today is a song that has changed the minds of people who have thought about creating a conflict.

When you’re in the shows its all about positivity.  With a song like The Story of My Life, that song defines a big part of who I am. A song like Babylon (can’t stop me), which is a song that can be interpreted as if JAH be for us then who can be against us? Ya know.  A song like If a Never Fi Love which you could say, if I didn’t have love then there would be a different energy.  Because love conquers all.  I give thanks!

Prague Sessions

Inspired by JAH Powers… Created by Mr. Mention

It is very difficult to believe that this is only the third time Mr Crow & Mr Reid have performed together .  On 23 March this dynamic duo performed classics Mississippi Blues, Folk, Reggae, and their own brand of music for the crowd at the Music Fest.   The first day of The Febio Fest went off with a bang, as Mr Crow & Mr Reid blew the audience away with their charisma and positive energy.  They exited the stage after three call backs, tired but thrilled with the overwhelming reception they had received from the people of Prague!  Nuff Respect Massive!

Mr Mention has been doing the blues with Mr. Crow as Mr Crow & Mr Reid.  The two musicians have been playing together since 2001, when they met in northern Thailand.

Mr. Crow hails from the heartland of America. He has been singing, finger-picking guitar, playing harmonica and writing songs since the 1960’s. Blues ~ Folk ~ Country:  Mr. Crow has been a working musician in bands and as a solo act for many years, primarily, in the Rocky Mountains of the western US and the low country of the south eastern US. He has been a featured performer at the Charleston South Carolina Blues Festival, The Low Country Blues Bash, The Charleston
Piccolo Spoleto Festival and The Charlotte North Carolina Jazz Festival.

His renditions of traditional Carolina Piedmont Blues have been featured at the South Carolina State Fair and on Public Radio’s “Notes From Home”.  “Tailwind”, an album of 12 original songs was released in 1989 on the Erwin Music Label, Charleston, South Carolina.

“Tailwind is a refreshing change that stirs up doses of emotion. Mr. Crow has developed a knack for producing melodies and lyrics that stick with you. His performances only add to the charm that emits on his tunes.”

"Whose Watchin"

Have you ever had the feeling that somebody’s watching you?  LOL You might be right. All depends on how you feel.  That’s what’s happening. We look though our telescopes we look though our satellites, we plant our probes, but yet there’s still things on Earth we still don’t know.

Some places beneath the sea we can not go.  How is it that only some people see UFO’s?  Somethings researchers are discovering that nobody knew before.

So, between you and me; and let us think steadily… If there were other living creatures on the planets we see though our telescopes, where would they have put their probes.  Maybe on Earth.

Who knows? The fact that we call each other aliens nobody knows. So, let me ask the question again: “Have you ever had the feeling that somebody’s watching you?”

I Found It!

“I Found It!” was based on people coming from different parts of the World, from around the Caribbean seeking beauty, and revitalization.  Sometimes I hear them say after seeing the underwater caves, “I found it! It’s paradise!”

It makes me realize were always seeking paradise. But now I know that paradise starts from deep within.  Because everywhere on Earth has it’s own original beauty.  Nature and Love is all the beauty that we’ll ever need.  However, don’t ever stop seeking for Paradise so you can say to yourself, “I Found It!”

Purple Skyline

“Purple Skyline” was inspired by just knowing that we are separated by water.  But jet were doing the same things in different countries; all yearning after the same thing.  How we can get better in everything we do, and give the next generation a greater future.
